1.1 cup Red Sorghum Millet Rava
2.2 cups water
3.Salt (to taste)
4.Vegetables of your choice (onions, tomatoes, carrots, peas, etc.)
5.Spices of your choice (ginger, green chili, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, etc.)
6.Oil or ghee (for cooking)
1.Heat a pan on an induction or gas stove. Dry roast 1 cup of Pillai’s Red Sorghum rava and set aside. 2.In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil, 1 tablespoon of mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal, a few curry leaves, 2 chopped green chilies, 1 chopped onion, and saute well. 3.Add 2 ½ – 3 cups of water and the required salt, bring them to a boil, and then add the roasted rava and wait for 5-8 minutes.
4. A healthy red sorghum rava upma is now ready.
